Dr. Jonathan Thurm is a graduate of the New York College of Podiatric medicine and completed a residency in foot surgery. He has been in private practice since 1989. Dr. Thurm is a board-certified diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, the most prestigious board available. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Ambulatory Foot Surgeons and has been invited as a special lecturer on many podiatric topics.
Dr. Thurm uses minimal invasive surgery (MIS). MIS allows to correct foot deformities and pathologies through a very small incision. Utilizing this special technique, there is much less exposure, soft tissue injury, swelling, and scarring thereby reducing pain. There is also no use of pins, wires or screws that can break or need to be removed with another surgery. MIS allows patients to walk on their feet immediately without the need of casts, crutches or canes. Most patients can return to work the next day after most procedures, meaning less down time and a quick return to normal activities.
